Chicago blackened death metal quintet BLACK SEPTEMBER have revealed a third new track, “Defiance,” from their new album “Into The Darkness Into The Void” (street date: Sept. 25) at InvisibleOranges.com.

The album, which was recorded by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Recording (Weekend Nachos, Veil of Maya), was praised by the new issue of Revolver Magazine for its “vast swaths of sinister black metal riffery” and “overpowering intensity.” You can purchase a pre-order package that consists of the album and an exclusively designed t-shirt on the PROSTHETIC web store for only $22.

“Into the Darkness Into The Void” is the follow-up record to BLACK SEPTEMBER’s 2010 full-length debut, “The Forbidden Gates Beyond,” which was praised by Decibel for its “savage riffing, elemental leads, and ominous lyrics” and labeled as “a singularly ravaging experience” from Metal Hammer.

BLACK SEPTEMBER, who’ve previously performed alongside Enslaved, Skeletonwitch, 3 Inches of Blood, Alcest and more, will next be seen hosting and DJ’ing a free listening party for the album on Sunday, Sept. 23 at EXIT Chicago as part of the Chicago Metal Factory’s “Metal Sundays.” In addition, the band will play a record release show on Sept. 29th at Chicago’s Ultra Lounge with support from Abysme, Coffinworm, and Terminate. You can purchase tickets for only $6 online via TicketWeb.
