A Perfect Circle San Diego fans have a date and a new video to hold them over. The band released a live music video for “Starless” on Oct. 13, and its 2027 North American tour comes to North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on Tuesday, June 8, 2027, with The Cult in support, per Pollstar.
“Starless” hasn’t been a slow burn. Consequence reports the single spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Active Rock radio chart.
The “Starless” live video
The new clip is the song’s live debut, filmed at the band’s sold-out London show this summer, per Blabbermouth. Jon Vulpine and Justin Jones shot it, and Jake Johnston edited it. Consequence notes that Maynard James Keenan is mostly in silhouette as he performs alongside guitarist Billy Howerdel and the band.
The song itself came out in May. Metal Injection says the band first released it with a visualizer at the end of May, and the London footage was filmed days later. Keenan said at the time that the band’s songs “always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live,” so a live clip is a fitting way to show it off.
Per Blabbermouth, “Starless” was recorded at Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in Studio City, produced by Howerdel, mixed by Matty Green and features longtime collaborator Josh Freese on drums.
Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years. But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along.

A second new song
“Starless” has company. Around Oct. 1 the band released “To Whom It May Concern,” its second new single this year, per Pollstar. It came from the same Studio City setup, with Howerdel producing, Green mixing and Freese on drums. Blabbermouth calls it a counterpoint to the more muscular “Starless.” No album title or release date has been announced.

Where else they’re playing nearby
Chula Vista sits in a short West Coast stretch near the end of the run. The band plays the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, June 6, then comes south for the A Perfect Circle San Diego date two nights later. After that it’s two nights at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on June 10 and 11, and the tour wraps June 13 at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix.
The leg opens April 13 in Vancouver. Puscifer, Keenan’s other band, joins A Perfect Circle on all the Canadian dates plus Detroit, and The Cult takes the rest of the U.S. run. Puscifer isn’t on the Chula Vista show, so the A Perfect Circle San Diego bill is APC and The Cult. Since The Cult’s run with the band covers April 27 through the June 13 finale, Chula Vista falls well inside it. Before any of that, the band resumes touring Nov. 25 in Mexico City, with fall dates across Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Hawaii.
Why the A Perfect Circle San Diego stop matters
Howerdel and Keenan formed the band in 1999. Per Blabbermouth, the 2000 debut Mer De Noms opened at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and went platinum, and 2018’s Eat The Elephant debuted at No. 3. Now the new songs have the band back at the top of rock radio and booked from Mexico City to Phoenix. The A Perfect Circle San Diego date is also the tour’s last stop in California. Howerdel said in Pollstar’s announcement that seeing “Starless” reach No. 1 “made it even sweeter,” and he promised “More to come.” For local fans, that means a new live video to watch now and an A Perfect Circle San Diego night in June. Watch “Starless” above, and we’ll update when set times or an album title surface. If you want the A Perfect Circle San Diego date on your calendar, it’s Tuesday, June 8.
