Category 7 has signed with Metal Blade Records. Category 7 is rounded out by the powerhouse vocals of John Bush, and additionally, the group contains the guitar talents of Phil Demmel and Mike Orlando, with Jack Gibson on bass and Jason Bittner on drums. Legendary members of Anthrax, Armored Saint, Adrenaline Mob, Machine Head, Overkill, Exodus, and Shadows Fall raise the hard rock flag with Category 7.
The band was born when both Demmel and Orlando started to have a common vision for them to form a twin lead guitar hard rock outfit that spans back to the early ’70s icons of Thin Lizzy. Bittner and Gibson were quickly added to the fold, and after some initial music was crafted, it became clear that Bush was the perfect fit for the vocal spot.
Speaking of the collaboration, Bush says, “Incredible riffs from Mike Orlando and Phil Demmel made lyric writing really fun. With Jason Bittner and Jack Gibson laying down the solid rhythm, the synergy felt like it was meant to be. Being seasoned vets in the metal scene only added to the cohesion.”
With this long-standing affiliation with Demmel and Bush, there was an affiliation by default in Metal Blade Records, where CATEGORY 7 found a home. It was just meant to be, for CATEGORY 7 signed with Metal Blade Records. Brian Slagel, the founding father of Metal Blade Records, says, “Thrilled to welcome CATEGORY 7 to the Metal Blade family.
