Produced in Los Angeles, California by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited, DRAGONFORCE‘s Extreme Power Metal was also recorded, in part, on guitarist Herman Li’s livestream channel on Twitch ( with participation from fans.
Known as the fastest band in the world, the Grammy-nominated act is based in London, England. Their platinum-selling record, Through The Fire And Flames, brought them international acclaim and was featured as the most-challenging song on Guitar Hero III. Their energetic and humorous live performances have won them fans on every continent.
The group is known for their long, complex, and fast guitar solos performed by Herman Li and Sam Totman, who founded the band after meeting through a classified ad in 1999. Since then, the band has released seven studio albums, including Valley Of The Damned (2003), Sonic Firestorm (2004), Inhuman Rampage (2006), Ultra Beatdown (2008), The Power Within (2012), Maximum Overload(2014), and Reaching Into Infinity (2017). 2019 brought with it the next chapter in DRAGONFORCEhistory: Extreme Power Metal!
Regarding Extreme Power Metal, Li says, “This album again combines the best of DRAGONFORCE in an even bigger, more epic way than we have ever done before. We are so excited for fans to hear it!” The keyboards of the new album were performed by Coen Janssen of symphonic metal titan Epica, adding a new dimension to the album. Notes Totman, “We worked really closely with Coen on this new album. We are so happy with what he has brought into this new album. Every fan will be so happy to hear his majestic playing.”
Drawing from a wide range of influences, the band’s sound combines the sing-a-long choruses of classic ’80s rock with triumphant, uplifting melodies and fantasy-themed power-metal-inspired lyrics. As a nod to their passion for all things video-game related, the band frequently incorporates retro game sounds and melodies into their recordings and live shows. The return of Dave McClain, who manned the drum throne from 1991 to 1997, and the addition of twenty-two-year old guitarist Joey Radziwill, alongside original members guitarist Wiley Arnett and vocalist/bassist Phil Rind are integral facets of the record. Awakening was produced by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy), engineered John Aquilino and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Halford, Armored Saint). GHOUL: Creepsylvanian Splatterthrashers Announce Weapons Of Mosh Destruction 4 Tour

Long-running Creepsylvanian splatterthrashers, GHOUL, will make their way to the West Coast to feed, this time as headliners on the Weapons Of Mosh Destruction 4 tour later this summer. The annual caravan of chaos will commence on August 8th and pillage its way through nine venues upon its conclusion on August 16th. Support will be provided by Fireburn and War Bison. See confirmed dates below.

Comments GHOUL’s Digestor, “Once again, GHOUL travels to your wretched backwater of a country to maim, kill, and otherwise inconvenience your most pathetic citizens! We’re happy to announce that we’ll be joined by hardcore super group Fireburn and Bay Area up-and-comers War Bison, who promise to help us carry out the fourth installment of the Weapons Of Mosh Destruction™ tour franchise; a business enterprise designed to impoverish entire towns and leave no trust fund standing! Wear a helmet!”

8/08/2018 Strummers – Fresno, CA
8/09/2018 Club Red – Phoenix, AZ
8/10/2018 Chain Reaction – Anaheim, CA

8/13/2018 Catalyst Atrium – Santa Cruz, CA
8/14/2018 Ramparts Skate Park – Arcata, CA
8/15/2018 Holy Diver – Sacramento, CA
8/16/2018 Slim’s – San Francisco, CA

GHOUL released their delightfully deviant Dungeon Bastards studio offering in 2016 via Tankcrimes. The record consumed Billboard Charts upon its first week of release debuting at #11 on the Heatseekers Chart, #13 on the Top Vinyl Albums Chart, #13 on the Hard Rock Chart, and #27 on the Independent Albums Chart. The band also earned prime spots on year end lists globally including the #19 position of Decibel’s Top 40 Albums Of 2016, the revered rag issuing of the album, “For those who lived through Nancy and Ronald, S.O.D., and D.R.I. GHOUL’s sound is like finding a shoebox of discontinued candy, all of it fresh to eat. That said, the gonzo midnight movie vibe and cartoonish energy on Dungeon Bastards perfectly articulates the apocalyptic anxiety that we’re all sharing in 2016.”

Dungeon Bastards was captured and mixed by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City) at Antisleep Studios in Oakland, mastered by Dan Randall (Impaled, Annihilation Time, Fucked Up, Necrot) at Mammoth Sound in San Francisco, and wields eleven hemorrhage-inducing tracks of the band’s now-patented Creepsylvanian splatterthrash.

Dungeon Bastards is out now on CD and digital formats. Tankcrimes recently repressed the LP edition (now available in limited-edition splatter or blue vinyl) which includes a gatefold jacket that opens into the Dungeon Bastards board game. Players take turns advancing through a Creepsylvanian map; the first one to get to end of the map and jump the Wall Of Death wins.

CD orders are available HERE, vinyl HERE, and digital HERE.

Additionally, GHOUL recently united with Brooklyn-based MC/Uncle Howie Records owner, Ill Bill (Non Phixion, Heavy Metal Kings) with Goretex (Non Phixion), for a two-song split 7″, out now via Tankcrimes. Said Riot Nerd of GHOUL’s portion, “With new releases on the way from seminal thrashers At The Gates, The Crown, and The Haunted this year, GHOUL proves with one track that they still wear the gore rotted championship belt in the land of speed and chug, and the eerie and verbose cinematic stalking of the Ill Bill contribution is just icing on the Creepsylvanian cake.”

Per venue policy, this event is 21+

To commemorate the show, we conducted a brief interview with Uada’s vocalist, Jake Superchi.

Cult of a Dying Sun is Uada’s second release and it catapulted your already magnetic sound to gigantic heights. What would you consider the biggest change in the writing process between the two albums?

JS: During the writing of the first record we were really experimenting with what we had in the arsenal at the time. It was a time of finding our sound within the first offering. After the first 5 songs were written & we were moving on to the next album it was a bit of an easier process & the writing started flowing very quickly.

Since its inception, Uada has had a tremendous grip on its aesthetic, especially through photography. How did your relationship with Peter Beste first spawn?

JS: Peter had just moved to the Pacific Northwest around the time that UADA had just started. He reached out to one of our members at the time with some questions for a project he was working on. It seemed he really enjoyed what we were doing & offered to do the photography for our first album. After that I had the pleasure of getting to know Peter & working with him behind the scenes at a local fest. We are really fortunate to work with him & glad that he was willing to do so again on this album.

Do you prefer playing more outdoor or indoor shows? From an audio perspective indoor seems superior, but I feel like the band’s organic qualities would also translate incredibly well in the outdoor stages you’ve played.

JS: Playing music anywhere is a great experience but nothing beats the feeling of being in nature. There is a primitive energy & feeling that just can not be replicated indoors.

Earlier this year you visited the Sedlec Ossuary in Prague. During your extensive travels, what have some other landmark visits been?

JS: Yes, the Sedlec Ossurary was a great experience. On the road we try to see as much of the world as we can, but it isn’t always the easiest thing to achieve. This last trip to Europe we did find some time to tour Wartburg Castle in Eisenach, Germany as well as a WWI museum in France. When in the US, we try to visit more National Parks than anything & look forward to doing so on this trip.

Did you run into any hurdles when selecting the setlist for the ‘Snakes & Vultures over North America MMXVIII’ tour? Or was it pretty straightforward?

JS: No hurdles with the new lineup, everything went smooth & easy. We are very much looking forward to playing some new material on this tour as well as the old.
