After returning with a giant strike and announcing their new album, the British doom death legend underlines its words with stunning pictures: MY DYING BRIDE release the video for”Your Broken Shore” today, taken from the upcoming album “The Ghost Of Orion”which will be out on 6th March.

The new record of MY DYING BRIDE is the product of a vibrantly creative band that is more than willing to build on their successes in the past. Singer Aaron Stainthorpe about “Your Broken Shore”:

“The first song from MY DYING BRIDE for five years comes laced with passion, power and their unyielding desire to create the most thoughtful and heavy music possible.

‘Your Broken Shore’ is recognizably theirs despite an evolution spanning 30 years, it’s new and fresh but with unmistakable provenance and production surpassing anything they have previously released.

This track represents just a taster of things to come as the new LP “The Ghost of Orion” is upon the horizon containing seven further compositions of deliciously crushing gothic doom/death metal.”

“The Ghost Of Orion” will be available as CD, black 2LP in Gatefold, white 2LP in Gatefold, red 2LP in Gatefold and picture 2LP in Gatefold.

In case you missed this first excerpt, you can listen to “Sorceress (live)”, here:

Always an unstoppable force for uniqueness amid a sea of generic swill, OPETH has been setting the rulebook ablaze, and ploughing a uniquely progressive and exploratory furrow for over 25 years now. Neither conforming nor exhibiting any desire to be restricted to a single genre, OPETH, quite simply, has a time honored tradition of blowing our minds with both class and forward thinking. All these years later, nothing and everything has changed once again with their most recent album, Sorceress.

Sorceress was released in September 2016. For the band’s first effort for Nuclear Blast via OPETH‘s imprint label Moderbolaget Records, the group returned to Rockfield Studios in Wales, also home to pivotal releases from QUEEN, RUSH and JUDAS PRIEST, where the Swedes had tracked “Pale Communion” in 2014 with Tom Dalgety.

Behemoth Launches Video For New Single, “Wolves Ov Siberia”

“It doesn’t get more blasphemous than this,” declares Behemoth mastermind Nergal, about the band’s upcoming album, I Loved You At Your Darkest – due out October 5th via Metal Blade Records (North America) / Nuclear Blast (Europe). While it certainly seems an unlikely title for a black metal band, its origin might surprise fans even more than the words themselves. “It’s a verse from the Bible,”Nergal reveals. “It’s actually a quote from Jesus Christ himself. For Behemoth to use it as the basis of our record, it’s sacrilege to the extreme.”

A crushing salvo of black metal majesty replete with hellish riffs, thundering drum cannonades and soaring liturgical choirs reminiscent of classic horror cinema, I Loved You At Your Darkest is the group’s most dynamic record yet: extreme and radical on one hand, but also more rock-oriented than any other Behemoth release. Produced by the band themselves, with drum co-production by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames), mixing by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Children Of Bodom) mastering by Tom Baker (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), and a 17-piece Polish orchestra arranged by Jan Stoklosa, I Loved You At Your Darkest can be pre-ordered now at: – where the video for the new single, “Wolves Ov Siberia” (directed by Kyle Kadow and Steven Cleavland), can also be viewed.

The following formats are available in the USA, along with an exclusive t-shirt:
–jewelcase CD
–digibook CD (hardcover digibook, 40 page booklet)
–baltic amber vinyl (limited to 600 copies)
–opaque white w/ gold splatter vinyl (Metal Blade Records exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–black / gold split vinyl (Metal Blade Records exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–clear w/ smoky black swirl (Nuclear Blast US exclusive – limited to 300 copies)
–clear w/ grey inside (Kings Road exclusive – limited to 500 copies)
–“God = Dog” 7″ picture disc (Metal Blade Records exclusive – limited to 666 copies)

Nergal comments:

“‘Wolves Ov Siberia’ was the first song unveiled from ILYAYD, we began playing it on tour in May of this year – the raw energy and dynamism of the song lent itself perfectly to a live context! The studio version doesn’t lose those fundamentals and now with our added intricacies, you will be able to hear the call to Ancient times…the devil is in the detail, after all. The video was purposefully very different from the well-recognised, Behemoth aesthetic – I wanted it to be chaotic, frenzied yet beautiful…I think this is mission accomplished and we’re really happy with the final product from Kyle Kadow and Steven Cleavland! Enjoy it!”

Torchia Releases Death Reeking Music Video & European Tour

Finnish death metallers Torchia released a visually stunning music video for the song “Light My Path” taken from their widely acclaimed debut album “Of Curses and Grief”. The video was directed and edited by Jouni Valjakka’s (Whispered) Obliviart Productions. Edward Torchia, the vocalist and the mastermind behind the video comments the piece:

”Light My Path is about walking the final day and washing oneself in the river of death. While writing the lyrics I had a strong visual image of the story, so I really wanted to depict that in a visual form at some point. It was important for me that everything happened in water so half of the video was shot literally in a lake. The five of us have already made the passage and are beckoning the one dying to join in the abyss.”

Watch the video below:

Video Premiere: ONYDIA “Dyaphany”

“Life is a complicated path which often makes us feel lonely and abandoned. In these moments, confidence in ourselves and in our abilities make us feel alive, restoring our energy and letting us create pure art. Creation is a supernatural entity which discloses itself. The artist cannot help but lends his soul and his voice to this entity, which is stronger and bigger than him. “Dyaphany ” is an explosion of creative strength which spreads energy and positivity.

ZOMBIEFICATION Set Release Date For New DOOMENTIA Album, Reveal First Track

Today, Doomentia Records announces July 15th as the international release date for Zombiefication‘s highly anticipated fourth album, Below the Grief.

Zombiefication – or more specifically, its core duo of Mr Hitchcock on vocals and Mr Jacko (also of Majestic Downfall) on guitars and bass – are back, and while they’re still following the same (left-hand) path initially carved by their debut Midnight Stench as far back as in 2010, they’ve once again decided to take step away from the rest of the cattle and do their own thing. Yes, the original goal was to pay homage to the early Swedeath gods, but after their second album, At the Caves of Eternal, it was clear that rehashing what Dismember and Entombed had done over a decade ago wasn’t satisfying enough for those restless minds always on the outlook for new and more arcane ways of describing the growing darkness around us.

Four years after their last album, and three since their last release (a split EP with Revel in Flesh), they’re finally back with Below the Grief, one beast of an album and probably, by far, their darkest and most evil-sounding yet. They’ve incorporated even more black metal influences yet have adorned it with a twisted and truly unique sense of melody. Staccato riffing has booted out the few D-beat parts they had left, resulting in a more majestic and dissonant ceremony. Still, there is plenty of brutality at display here, as Zombiefication have always been about creating a suffocating and occult atmosphere. No wonder this more subtle and complex work asks you to look “below the grief” to find what truly lies within our blackened hearts. And behold…

Begin beholding with the new track “Blood Falls” below:

Cover, courtesy of Mr. Hitchcock, and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Zombiefication’s Below the Grief
1. Blood Falls
2. Deliverence from the Astral Sea
3. Echoes of Light
4. From Death to its Son
5. Heavy is the Crown
6. Hunger Undying
7. Sky Burial

DESTRUCTION – First Album Trailer Released

German thrash titans DESTRUCTION will release their new ‘best of old school’ album Thrash Anthems II on November 10th via Nuclear Blast Records. To promote the album, the band are rolling out a series of trailers covering the making of the album. Today sees the release of the first trailer, in which drummer Wawrzyniec “Vaaver” Dramowicz discusses his part in the recording process. Watch video above:

In 2007, DESTRUCTION proved how successful re-recording some of their timeless classics and re-imagining history could be. Tracks like ‘Frontbeast’, which was only ever released on a demo back in 1983, have been included on the forthcoming release. Fans will also be pleased to hear that Schmier has lent his vocals to the track “Rippin You Off Blind”. The original song features on the CRACKED BRAIN album.

The follow-up to 2007’s Thrash Anthems is ready to rock the metal world and shows how fans can be part of both a band’s history and future. For Thrash Anthems II, DESTRUCTION called upon on their loyal fans through PledgeMusic to help them create the record and contribute to the band’s epic history

Mastermind Schmier states:
“As it is a part of our past to relaunch classic songs from our history with a fresh face and we had many demands on a »Thrash Anthems« continuation, we decided to do a second part of this re-animation of classic 80s DESTRUCTION material. For us it was important to chose the tracks with the fans and first when NB did not wanna do the album we decided to do a pledge campaign to raise the fonds for the production together with the die-hards.

To make a long story short, we know not everybody will like these new versions of those thrash evergreens (just listen to the originals then) but it was an important task for us to keep them alive for a whole new generation of metalheads that love those fresh and brutal new recordings. We are very happy now, that our label is finally releasing this collection of thrash classics. The vibe on this record is so vicious, uncommercial and has this 80s feeling with a even more aggressive edge and THAT is was made our THRASH so special, in the good old days and now!”

Singer Jukka Pelkonen comments,

In the light of recent events we wanted to voice our opinion about the tragedy of suicide. This is a subject that may concern anyone at some point. ʻBlade Reflectionsʼ is a statement against suicide and an encouragement to all of those who dwell in the depths of self-annihilation. Having been there myself too, I know how devastating it can be. There is nothing more precious than this life itself and it is worth seeing through. Though, we do not condemn those who choose to go, rather we want to stand by with all the rest, all of us, who are staying.”

Guitarist Markus Vanhala adds,

ʻBlade Reflectionsʼ is a lil’ older song that didn’t entirely fit to our previous album, so here it is – as a single format standalone anthem! The song was produced in a kind of swansong recording session with our former long-time drummer Jarmo Pikka. So we still keep Tuomo Latvalas upcoming beats and styles as mystery for you til’ the next album, the Century Media OG debut, which we’re soon about to start recording.
Before that, enjoy ʻBlade Reflectionsʼ and come to see us on autumnal European stages in October/November during our ʻArctic Circle Allianceʼ co-headline tour with Icelanders of Skalmöld and Finnish fellows Stam1na opening all the evenings!”
