Dayseeker will release Creature in the Black Night Redux, an expanded edition of their 2025 album, on Feb. 26, 2027 through Spinefarm. The set adds remixes by synthwave act The Midnight, two stripped live versions recorded at SiriusXM Octane, and a cover of My Chemical Romance’s “The Ghost of You.” The first taste is out now: a remix of “Shapeshift” with The Midnight.
Dayseeker and The Midnight
“This was such an honor to collaborate with The Midnight and transform these songs in a way people have never heard before,” singer Rory Rodriguez said in the announcement, reported by Blabbermouth. On “Shapeshift,” he said: “I used to jam a mellow version of ‘Shapeshift’ on my piano and sending it to The Midnight and getting to hear them transform it into an ’80s synthwave version just completely blew us away.”
The Midnight’s Tim McEwan said: “For years, I’ve been wanting to create a genre called ‘metalwave,’ and this is the first step in that direction.” Rodriguez called the MCR cover “so nostalgic for all of us in the band,” adding that the band “tried to recreate that song in our own band’s sound and image.”

A Chart-Topping Album Cycle
Dayseeker are the trio of Rodriguez, bassist Ramone Valerio and drummer Zac Mayfield. Creature in the Black Night debuted at No. 79 on the Billboard 200 in 2025. Its second single, “Crawl Back to My Coffin,” topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart dated May 9, 2026. It was the band’s first No. 1 on any Billboard chart and Spinefarm’s first No. 1 on that chart. Billboard said Dayseeker’s previous best was the No. 7 peak of “Pale Moonlight.” The announcement adds that the album version of “Shapeshift” is at rock radio now and was the most-added track the week it went out.
Tour Status
No Dayseeker headlining tour or San Diego date has been announced for Redux. The band is direct support on the second leg of Motionless in White’s Sweat and Blood Tour, with The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Divine. That leg starts Oct. 30 in Worcester, Mass. and runs through Nov. 20 in Pittsburgh.
