The Triumph Viejas Arena concert set for Saturday, Dec. 12, is off. The Viejas Arena event page now lists the show as “Triumph CANCELLED,” after the Canadian rock band called off all 16 dates of the second leg of its “Rock & Roll Machine Reloaded” tour with special guest April Wine.
The band announced the cancellation on Friday, Oct. 30, citing “sudden and unexpected medical circumstances affecting the band,” as reported by Blabbermouth. San Diego was booked as the final night of the run, two days after a Dec. 10 stop at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Why the Triumph Viejas Arena Show Was Cancelled
In a statement shared on social media, Triumph said the second leg was set to begin in just under three weeks and that the band could not rehearse for it. “It is with deep disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the remaining 2026 ‘Reloaded’ tour dates due to sudden and unexpected medical circumstances affecting the band,” the statement reads. “With the second leg of the tour set to begin in just under three weeks, these circumstances prevent us from being able to rehearse and move forward with the current shows as planned.”
“We recognize that this announcement comes on short notice, and sincerely apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this will cause,” the band continued.
The statement does not say who is affected or what the medical circumstances are. It does end on a hopeful note: “Thankfully, the outlook is positive and we will be back on stage with you as soon as possible.” No rescheduled dates have been announced.
Refunds for San Diego Ticket Holders
Refunds are automatic. Triumph’s statement says, “All tickets purchased for the affected dates will be refunded automatically through the original point of purchase. Ticketholders do not need to take any action to initiate their refunds.” Fans with questions about an order should contact the ticket provider they bought from.
The Viejas Arena page adds detail for local buyers:
- No action is needed to get a refund.
- Refunds go back to the original method of payment once the arena receives funds from the event organizer. The venue says this is “usually completed within 30 days.”
- Fans who paid cash should contact the Viejas Arena box office at (619) 594-0429.
The Lineup That Was Set to Play
The second leg was to feature the same lineup that toured earlier in 2026: guitarist and vocalist Rik Emmett and drummer and vocalist Gil Moore, with guitarist Phil X, drummer and keyboardist Brent Fitz and bassist Todd Kerns. Phil X is a member of Bon Jovi and a former member of Triumph. Fitz and Kerns both play in Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators.
Original bassist Mike Levine did not take part in any of the 2026 dates. In December 2025 he revealed a problem with his hand that kept him from playing well.

About Triumph
Triumph formed in Mississauga, Ontario, in 1975 with Emmett, Levine and Moore. The band’s announcement says it has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and earned 27 gold and platinum certifications, and it played the 1983 US Festival. Its best-known songs include “Lay It On The Line,” “Allied Forces,” “Magic Power,” “Fight The Good Fight” and “Follow Your Heart.”
What’s Next for Triumph and Viejas Arena
For now, there is no new San Diego date. Ticket holders for the Triumph Viejas Arena show do not need to do anything to get their money back, and the band says it plans to return to the stage as soon as possible. The arena’s 2027 calendar keeps rolling. Queens of the Stone Age open their U.S. tour at Viejas Arena on May 1, and SDMETAL’s guide to metal venues in San Diego covers the rest of the city’s rooms.
