The Sound
The Sound is the Belly Up team’s big room at the Del Mar Fairgrounds: a 9,500-square-foot, 1,900-capacity concert hall that brings larger touring acts to the North County coast. Heavy bookings are occasional but serious, with Mastodon among the headliners to play the room.
The two-story Spanish Mission–style building houses a state-of-the-art concert facility. Shows can be all ages, 18+ or 21+, so check the listing. Parking is run by the Fairgrounds through the Main Gate (typically about $20), and the box office opens 90 minutes before doors on show nights.
