Lita Ford has signed with Frontiers Music Srl, and her first new single for the label, “Dracula,” is out Tuesday, Oct. 27. The Lita Ford Dracula single was produced by Gary Hoey, mixed by Max Norman and played by Ford, Hoey and drummer Bobby Rock, according to the announcement published Wednesday, Oct. 21 by Blabbermouth and BraveWords.
Lita Ford Dracula Single: The Details
The Lita Ford Dracula announcement is the first concrete release news since Ford started talking about the album years ago. Here’s what has been confirmed about the Lita Ford Dracula release:
- Release date: Oct. 27, 2026
- Label: Frontiers Music Srl
- Producer: Gary Hoey
- Mix: Max Norman
- Players: Lita Ford, Gary Hoey and Bobby Rock (drums)
Ford announced the deal in typically dramatic fashion:
It’s been a long journey to create this magical dark fairytale album for everyone to enjoy. I needed the perfect team to make that happen and to help give this powerful record a life it deserves. I am so happy to say I have officially sealed the deal with Frontiers Music Srl, as we are thrilled, excited and ready to rise with the first new single on October 27th, 2026. Good night. Goodbye… Prepare to die ‘Dracula’!! Brace yourself.”
Jeff Stevenson, GM of Frontiers Label Group, called Ford “a true rock icon” and said “what excites us most is that Lita continues to look forward creatively.”
The Album Behind It
Lita Ford Dracula is the first taste of Ford’s long-delayed follow-up to 2012’s Living Like a Runaway. Blabbermouth says Hoey produced the album too and plays some guitar on it. Her most recent release was 2016’s Time Capsule, a set of older recordings that had never come out before.
Ford has been describing the record in interviews for years. Per Blabbermouth’s roundup:
- In August 2025 she told the Surviving Rocklahoma podcast it’s “a dark fairytale record,” a concept album with “a theme all the way through” and “lots of characters.” She said “problems with record label stuff” had held it up.
- In April she told SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation the album was “done,” and that it includes a duet with Doro Pesch and a song co-written with Jean Beauvoir.
- She has said Bobby Rock played drums on the album, that a songwriting partner died during the process, and that COVID delayed the drum sessions, which were cut in Minneapolis.
Ford told TotalRock in June 2025 that the Doro song is “not a ballad, and it’s not a fast song. It’s just a really powerful, mid-range song. And it will reduce you to tears.” She said Doro suggested they work together when the two met at an awards event in Los Angeles, that Ford already had a title in mind and wrote the song herself, and that Doro “sang the hell out of it.”
What hasn’t been announced: the album’s title, its release date, the tracklist and the title of the Doro duet. Frontiers’ announcement covers only the signing and the Lita Ford Dracula single. Back in January, Ford said she was hoping for “a full record” in 2026. Nothing in the announcement says whether that’s still the plan.
A Quick Look Back
Ford started out in 1976 as lead guitarist of The Runaways, according to the label bio carried by The Music Universe. Her solo career began in 1983 with Out for Blood. Her 1988 album Lita went multi-platinum on the back of “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever,” her duet with Ozzy Osbourne. The bio also notes that her B.C. Rich Warlock guitar went into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s permanent collection in 2021, and that her 2016 memoir, Living Like a Runaway, was a national bestseller.
Max Norman, who mixed both the single and the album, is best known for his work with Ozzy Osbourne and Megadeth, Blabbermouth notes. Ford said in 2024 that “it’s all in the right hands.”
Live Plans
No tour has been announced around the Lita Ford Dracula single, and no Southern California dates have been posted. In a 2023 interview cited by Blabbermouth, Ford said she’d like to stage “a theatrical show, sort of like a rock guitar opera kind of thing” for the new album. That’s an idea she has floated, not a booked show. Her touring band has included bassist Marten Andersson since May 2022, per Blabbermouth. No word yet on whether the Lita Ford Dracula single will get a video.
