Forged in the fires of classic thrash and battle-tested on global stages, HarXsoN is the brand-new San Diego-based trio formed by former HIRAX members Steve and Lance Harrison, alongside fellow alum Mike Vega. After nearly two decades of unleashing chaos with HIRAX, the Harrison brothers are back—louder, meaner, and hungrier than ever—with a mission to incinerate the devil himself through riff-driven salvation.
“It was time to bust out,” declares frontman Steve Harrison. “We had so many songs burning in our heads and dark hearts. There was no better time than right now.”
HarXsoN (pronounced hair-ex-son) introduces their sonic assault with “Mata Al Diablo”, the first single and video from their upcoming debut EP Can’t Kill Us. Dropped on Friday the 13th at 6:66 AM Standard Hell Time, this track rips hard with blistering riffs, a punishing rhythm section, and a wicked bass solo that calls back to thrash’s glory days.
“This one is for our friends and fans from Latin America,” Steve says. And it shows—“Mata Al Diablo” explodes with fiery aggression and old-school attitude.
Born from the ashes of HIRAX and raised under the darkening skies of Southern California, HarXsoN isn’t just making noise—they’re declaring war. The trio’s sound is a full-frontal throwback to the raw energy of Slayer, Exodus, and Motörhead, but with a fresh hellbound edge.
But that’s not all.
Can’t Kill Us is produced, mixed, and mastered by none other than Bill Metoyer—the same legendary engineer behind Slayer’s Show No Mercy, Haunting the Chapel, and Hell Awaits, along with essential albums from Sacred Reich, Morbid Angel, Armored Saint, and more.
And for the art? They went straight to the top. The EP will feature cover art by the godfather of thrash imagery himself, Ed Repka—the man responsible for the iconic visuals of Megadeth, Death, Dark Angel, and countless others.
HarXsoN formed in 2024 here in San Diego—the band’s new command center—ready to thrash out of hell and straight into your ears. With their legacy rooted in Long Beach and a rebirth happening in the 619, HarXsoN stands ready to rep the San Diego metal scene on a global stage.
