The first Bruce Dickinson new single from his eighth solo album is close. Speaking to Chile’s Radio Futuro on Sunday, Nov. 1, the Iron Maiden singer said the song and its video arrive in roughly 10 days, as transcribed by Blabbermouth. The album, the follow-up to 2024’s The Mandrake Project, is due in early 2027 via BMG.
“People will hear it — the first single is out in, like, 10 days or something,” Dickinson said. “We’ll drop the video, and the videos are extraordinary.” No exact release date has been announced.
Bruce Dickinson New Single: The Video
Dickinson hinted the clip may draw a reaction: “If you thought that you’re gonna have problems with the Catholic church, they might have a problem with this video, because it’s… But anyway, never mind. We’ll see.”
He explained the theme: “But the video’s about truth. Telling the truth — simple as that. Speaking in tongues. Everybody’s talking, but nobody’s listening. Everybody’s talking, but nobody’s telling the truth. Everybody from bloggers, social media influencers, politicians. Will somebody please be able to tell the truth? And then people will listen.”
The single title has not been revealed.
How the Eighth Solo Album Was Made
Most of the album was recorded in January and February at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California, with producer Brendan Duffey. Duffey also mixed the record at his Brendan Duffey Audio studio in Jupiter, Florida. He previously worked on More Balls To Picasso, the reworked version of Dickinson’s second solo album, released in July 2025.
18 Songs, No AI and No Samples
“We worked for three weeks, every day, 12 hours a day, and we put down — well, a total of 18 songs,” Dickinson said. “And some are left over, ’cause we couldn’t get them all on the album; otherwise it would be a double album.” He added that there are no samples on it, and he repeated that no artificial intelligence was used. “A.I. is not creative. All it does is copy,” he said.
The album title, track list and release date are still unannounced.
The PsychoGod Tour 2027
Dickinson has already announced the PsychoGod Tour 2027, his first solo shows since The Mandrake Project tour ended in Brazil in September 2025. The announced dates are in the U.K. and Europe, starting June 14 in Belfast and ending Dec. 10 in Paris, with Evergrey supporting in November and December. His solo band is Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund on guitar, Tanya O’Callaghan on bass, Mistheria on keyboards and Dave Moreno on drums.
