The Las Vegas six-piece released Wish For Solace on Aug. 18, 2026. The six-song EP is streaming on Apple Music, and tonight’s show is the band’s San Diego celebration of it.
Who Dreams As Nightmares Are
The band’s official site says Dreams As Nightmares started in 2023 as a project of guitarist Alejandro Gomez after he left Image Intent and Damaged Savage. Rich Thomas (Auralight, A Suffocating Lie) and singer-songwriter Connor Hetzel joined next, giving the band a two-vocalist lineup that pairs screams with big clean parts. Guitarist Thomas Velasquez, bassist Jonny Vega and Nick Fisher completed the six-piece.
The band lists ERRA, Polaris and Wage War as influences and says it writes about resilience, healing and getting through dark stretches. Before the EP came out, the band released the singles “Into The Storm,” “Fallen Angel” and “Wasted On Me” in 2025, then “Ashes” in August 2026. “Asphyxia” and “Reflections” are also on the EP.
The San Diego Support Bill
All three openers are from San Diego. The promoter describes them this way:
- Maedhira: San Diego progressive metal built on layered compositions and technical musicianship.
- Superweapon: a San Diego rock band with a guitar-driven, irreverent streak.
- Astronaut Fight: San Diego modern metal that leans technical and atmospheric.
