Corazón del Barrio
Corazón del Barrio is an all-ages space in Barrio Logan that has become a stronghold for San Diego’s hardcore scene, and the heavier end of it crosses straight into metal territory. It hosted the inaugural Summer Slam, a 16-band all-ages hardcore marathon covered by the San Diego Reader, and its stage has welcomed bills like Big Ass Truck with Chamber and Mugshot.
It’s a community room more than a club, the kind of place where young bands and young crowds build a scene from the ground up. If your taste runs to metallic hardcore and beatdown, keep an eye on what’s happening on Logan Avenue.
