Infant Annihilator Set Dec. 1 for First Album Since 2019’s ‘The Battle of Yaldabaoth’

Infant Annihilator have finally put a date on it. The technical deathcore band announced on Oct. 16, through a short teaser video on Instagram, that the Infant Annihilator new album will be out Dec. 1, 2026. It will be their first full-length since The Battle of Yaldabaoth in 2019. That’s all they’ve revealed so far.

What’s Confirmed About the Infant Annihilator New Album

Theprp called the clip a “bizarre teaser video” and confirmed the Dec. 1 date. Lambgoat reported the same and said further details, “including the album’s title and track listing, have yet to be announced.”

Here’s where things stand as of Oct. 18:

  • Release date: Dec. 1, 2026
  • Title: not announced
  • Tracklist: not announced
  • Singles: none released
  • Label: not announced; the band has historically self-released
  • Live dates: none announced

The Instagram-only rollout fits the band’s history. Kaos Metal called the teaser “nothing more, which is how this band have always done it.”

A Band Built Online

Infant Annihilator formed in 2012 in the Hull area of England. Drummer Aaron Kitcher and guitarist Eddie Pickard built the songs on a home computer. According to Wikipedia, the two founders are English while the band’s vocalist has always been American, which is why Wikipedia calls the band English-American. Kaos Metal says the pair “put three albums out independently” and reached an audience bigger than most signed bands in the genre.

Kaos Metal also says the band “never played a conventional live schedule.” Wikipedia goes further: it calls them an internet band that has so far performed only as a studio project, even though they have said touring is possible.

Their catalog so far:

  • The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution (released Dec. 12, 2012), with Indiana-born vocalist Dan Watson
  • The Elysian Grandeval Galeriarch (July 29, 2016), with Massachusetts vocalist Dickie Allen, which made several Billboard charts
  • The Battle of Yaldabaoth (Sept. 11, 2019)
  • Mister Sister Fister: Re-Conception EP (Oct. 15, 2024), a remake of a release by an earlier Pickard/Kitcher project, featuring Allen and Alex Teyen

Wikipedia says the band revealed alongside that 2024 EP that a fourth album was in the works. Who sings on the Infant Annihilator new album has not been officially confirmed.

Why the Infant Annihilator New Album Matters

Kaos Metal makes the case that Infant Annihilator helped define the “technical deathcore” tag. It also notes that “deathcore has been through two more waves” in the seven years since their last record, so the Infant Annihilator new album will land “in a crowded field they helped create.” Wikipedia also notes that the band’s lyrics are deliberately extreme. In September 2017 their music was briefly pulled from Spotify and iTunes as “too offensive,” then restored three days later.

Among the influences the band has named, according to Wikipedia, is San Diego’s own Carnifex. The list also includes Despised Icon, Thy Art Is Murder, The Black Dahlia Murder and San Diego’s Cattle Decapitation, so the Infant Annihilator new album comes from a band whose influences run partly through this city. SDMETAL readers know that lineage well: our latest Carnifex coverage is the “Licking Love From A Knife” video and 10th album closer.

San Diego and Deathcore

Deathcore has deep roots in San Diego, and plenty of local fans will be paying attention on Dec. 1. Don’t expect a local show, though. The band has no announced live dates, and there’s no history of regular touring to suggest one is coming. For the bigger picture, see our look at what’s trending in the San Diego metal scene and our state of metal in 2025 rundown.

One practical note: because the band announces things through its own social channels, the Infant Annihilator Instagram account is the most likely place for the title and first single to show up before Dec. 1.

SDMETAL will update this story when the title, tracklist or first single for the Infant Annihilator new album is revealed.
