Sepultura Play Their Final Concert in São Paulo Today at Suhai Music Hall

Sepultura play the last concert of their career today, Saturday, Nov. 7, at Suhai Music Hall in São Paulo, Brazil. The show closes the band’s Celebrating Life Through Death farewell tour, which started in March 2024, and ends more than 40 years for the band that came out of Belo Horizonte in 1984.

According to Live Nation Brasil, doors open at 4 p.m. and Sepultura go on at 9 p.m. São Paulo time, which is 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pacific. The show is listed as 16+ for anyone attending without a parent or guardian.

Final Show Moved From Pacaembu

When the band announced the farewell show in May, it was booked for Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu. Sepultura said that site meant a lot to them because of the early-’90s concert at Praça Charles Miller, right in front of the stadium, which helped make the band a force in Brazil.

In September, Live Nation Brasil moved the show to Suhai Music Hall on the same date. G1 reported that the new venue holds about 9,000 people and that no reason for the move was given. Tickets bought for Pacaembu are still valid. The Suhai Music Hall event page and Sepultura’s official tour page both list the show at Suhai.

Who’s Playing With Sepultura

The confirmed guests are Metal Allegiance, Krisiun and Sacred Reich. The Metal Allegiance lineup announced for the show is Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Alex Skolnick and Chuck Billy (Testament), Phil Demmel, Troy Sanders (Mastodon) and founder Mark Menghi.

The venue says former members Jean Dolabella and Jairo Guedz will also be there. Guedz played guitar in Sepultura before Andreas Kisser joined, and Dolabella was the band’s drummer before Eloy Casagrande. Organizers had said more guests would be announced later.

The Last Lap

The band’s official lineup for the finale is Derrick Green, Andreas Kisser, Paulo Xisto Jr. and drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who joined in early 2024 after Casagrande left for Slipknot. Sepultura’s last North American run, with Exodus, Biohazard and Tribal Gaze, ended May 29 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. SDMETAL covered an earlier farewell-era stop when Sepultura returned to San Diego.

Kisser has said the band is putting together a live album from shows recorded across the farewell tour, but he has also said it won’t be ready until after the touring ends. He hasn’t ruled out playing again someday. “The important thing is that we’re gonna stop now,” he told Jaimunji of Metal On Tap, as reported by Blabbermouth.
