Venue
The Banshee calls itself a dive bar and music venue, and on El Cajon Boulevard it has become one of the go-to rooms for underground heavy music in San Diego. The stage has hosted grind, crust, doom and death metal from bands like Organ Dealer, Genestealer, Hiss, Cadavered, Old Gods, Woods Witch, Death Before Dishonor, Legions and Moral Genocide.
It’s small, loud and unpretentious, exactly the kind of place where a weeknight four-band bill feels like an event. DICE lists The Banshee as the third most-followed venue in San Diego, which tells you how many people keep tabs on its calendar. Doors open at 5 p.m. daily with happy hour from 5 to 7.
