Burn Eternal, the project that reunites Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz with former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones, will release its debut single, “Wounds I’ve Made,” on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 9 a.m. PT. Metal Blade Records has scheduled the YouTube premiere for that time, and ThePRP reported the date and time on Nov. 2.
Burn Eternal “Wounds I’ve Made” Premiere
The premiere is on Metal Blade’s YouTube channel, titled “Burn Eternal – Wounds I’ve Made (Trailer).” Until it goes live, the player below shows the scheduled premiere. Metal Blade also posted a short teaser on Instagram.
A press release describes the song this way: “‘Wounds I’ve Made’ is about both acknowledging mistakes and regrets of the past, while also constantly evolving and moving forward. Sometimes change hurts, but it’s necessary for self-growth and to avoid being stuck in the past. Some relationships aren’t meant to be.”
Burn Eternal Debut Album on Metal Blade
ThePRP says Burn Eternal have already completed their debut album. The band recently signed with Metal Blade Records, which will release it. The album title, release date and track list have not been announced.
How Burn Eternal Came Together
ThePRP calls Burn Eternal a “long gestating project.” Jones fronted Killswitch Engage until he left in 2012, ThePRP notes, and has made guest appearances with the band live and in the studio since.
When the Metal Blade signing was announced, Jones said: “We couldn’t be more excited to announce Burn Eternal joining forces with Metal Blade for our debut album. The whole team has been amazing, and we can’t wait to get this music out. From an idea while having lunch in London to a completed album, this has been such a fun way to reconnect with my friend. Burn Eternal lives!”
Dutkiewicz added: “I am wicked excited to finally be able to share my project with Howard with all of you! It feels great to be hanging with an old friend and making more music with him.” No live dates have been announced.
SDMETAL previously previewed Killswitch Engage at Petco Park in San Diego in 2025.
