System of a Down Confirm First-Ever Rose Bowl Show for June 5, 2027 With San Diego’s Pierce the Veil

Updated Oct. 19, 2026: System of a Down have confirmed what the L.A. teasers were for: a June 5, 2027 show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena with Pierce the Veil. This post has been rewritten with the official details. It originally ran Oct. 18, when no venue or date had been announced.

The rose was a hint after all. The System of a Down 2027 teasers that turned up around Los Angeles last week were for the band’s first-ever show at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium, on Friday, June 5, 2027, with Pierce the Veil as special guest. According to Blabbermouth, which ran the announcement on Oct. 19, it is the band’s only North American show of 2027. Live Nation and 30e are promoting it. There is still no San Diego date.

System of a Down 2027 Rose Bowl Tickets

There are two ticket windows for the System of a Down 2027 Rose Bowl show:

  • Artist presale: Friday, Oct. 23 at 10 a.m. PT. To get in, register at signup.livenation.com/systemofadown by Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 9 p.m. PT. The announcement says registrants get “first access to tickets and VIP packages” and that no code is required.
  • General on-sale: Monday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. PT on Ticketmaster.

Ticket prices and VIP package details had not been published when this update was written. The announcement doesn’t mention any other openers beyond Pierce the Veil, and it doesn’t give set times.

What’s Confirmed Now

Here’s where the System of a Down 2027 picture stands as of Oct. 19:

  • Confirmed: Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena, Friday, June 5, 2027. It’s the band’s first-ever show at the venue.
  • Confirmed: Pierce the Veil as special guest.
  • Confirmed: It’s System of a Down’s only North American show of 2027.
  • Confirmed: Artist presale Oct. 23 and general on-sale Oct. 26, both at 10 a.m. PT.
  • Not announced: Ticket prices, other openers and set times.
  • Not announced: Any San Diego date. Given the “only North American play” wording, don’t expect one in 2027.

A San Diego Band on the Bill

The support pick has a local angle. Blabbermouth’s announcement says Pierce the Veil formed in San Diego in 2006. The trio is Vic Fuentes, Tony Perry and Jaime Preciado. The announcement describes them as “underground post-hardcore heroes” who grew into one of modern rock’s biggest bands, and says they are in the middle of their “I Can’t Hear You Tour,” with sellouts that include Madison Square Garden, Red Rocks and multiple nights at the Kia Forum. So the System of a Down 2027 Rose Bowl bill puts a San Diego band in front of a stadium crowd up the 5.

How the Teasers Played Out

When this post first ran, the posters and projections showing the band’s name, a rose and “2027” were the only clue. Metal Injection reported fans reading the rose as a Rose Bowl hint, and Kerrang! said the logos had appeared near the Capitol building and off Pico Boulevard. Kerrang! credited the teaser photos to Live Nation. The fans were right: the System of a Down 2027 tease was the Rose Bowl.

The band has done this before, so the System of a Down 2027 rollout wasn’t a surprise. Metal Injection noted that in July, System of a Down and Faith No More logos showed up around Australia and New Zealand days before the two bands confirmed stadium shows there for January and February 2027. Metal Injection said those will be System’s first shows Down Under since 2012.

The Rest of the System of a Down 2027 Calendar

The Rose Bowl comes after a run of stadium dates in the Southern Hemisphere. The 2027 dates listed in the announcement are:

  • Jan. 15 – Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Maracana Stadium
  • Jan. 22 – Sydney Olympic Park, Australia – Accor Stadium
  • Jan. 27 – Melbourne, Australia – Marvel Stadium
  • Feb. 1 – Brisbane, Australia – Suncorp Stadium
  • Feb. 7 – Wellington, New Zealand – Hnry Stadium
  • June 5 – Pasadena, Calif. – Rose Bowl

The announcement also points to the sold-out European stadium tour the band played this past summer, with back-to-back sellouts in Paris, London and Warsaw.

Toxicity at 25

The System of a Down 2027 news landed right after the band’s celebration of Toxicity‘s 25th anniversary. Last week the band ran an exhibition of rare artifacts and ephemera from that era at Beyond the Streets in L.A. Metal Injection reported that the free exhibit ran through Oct. 18. A 25th anniversary vinyl reissue has also been announced. We haven’t seen a release date for it.

Kerrang! also reran something Serj Tankian told the magazine a year ago about the band headlining stadiums: “It really hits a nerve with people – we don’t exactly know why it does, but we’re very grateful.” In the same quote he said the band wants to “make people happy with our performances but not overdo it.” One North American show in 2027 fits that.

What It Means for San Diego

For San Diego fans, it’s now a road trip. Pasadena is the only System of a Down 2027 show on this continent, so the Rose Bowl is the date to plan around. Register for the presale by Wednesday night if you want first shot. Next year already has big stadium shows closer to home, including Metallica at Snapdragon Stadium on May 13 and Iron Maiden’s return to Chula Vista, and SoCal fans already make the drive north for shows like Trivium’s Inglewood date.
