Thrown Into Exile Releases Remorse With Michael Amott

Los Angeles band Thrown Into Exile has released “Remorse,” bringing Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott into the fold for a guest solo. The single arrives with an official music video and marks the blackened melodeath band’s second release under the BLKIIBLK banner.

The collaboration also connects tour mates: Thrown Into Exile is on the road supporting Arch Enemy and The Black Dahlia Murder, according to Blabbermouth’s report.

Thrown Into Exile confronts the weight of Remorse

The band describes the song as a reckoning with emotional investment, past mistakes and the feeling of ending up back where you started. In a statement carried by Blabbermouth, Thrown Into Exile explains:

“’Remorse’ is a personal song that deals with how much of yourself you are willing to give to something that only results in being where you started and the emotional weight that comes with that, past mistakes, things that could have been handled better and carrying that with you.”

Amott says he had been watching Thrown Into Exile grow before guitarist Mario Rubio invited him to contribute. He called the chance to work with his tour mates “a no-brainer”. Rubio’s reaction makes clear how much the exchange meant to him:

“What more can I say that hasn’t been said? He is the master of melodies, and having his feel and legendary phrasing on this song is nothing short of an honor. What an experience to trade a lead with him!”

BLKIIBLK is presenting “Remorse” as a taste of what’s ahead in 2027. For more on its guest guitarist, read our coverage of Michael Amott’s update on Arch Enemy’s next album.
