Castle Release “Evil Nun” Video, Close US Tour at Tower Bar San Diego Oct. 30

Doom trio Castle have released a music video for “Evil Nun,” a track from their seventh album, Carrie Chains, on Hammerheart Records. The band are on the last week of their U.S. tour, which ends Friday, Oct. 30 at The Tower Bar in San Diego.

Castle’s “Evil Nun” Video

Brooklyn filmmaker and digital artist Brian Davis directed the video, NextMosh reports. It draws on Italian cinema of the 1970s and ’80s and is staged as the opening credits of an imagined film called Sorella Malvagia. According to the video’s description, a clairvoyant rock singer foresees a gateway to Hell opening beneath New York City while Rasputin leads a gang of anarchic nuns through Brooklyn.

“Evil Nun” is the fourth of eight tracks on Carrie Chains. Hammerheart’s Bandcamp page gives the album’s release date as Sept. 4, 2026. It’s the band’s second album for the label. Castle recorded it with producer Jesse Gander at RainCity Recorders in Vancouver, B.C., and tracked live in the studio for the first time. The lineup on the record is bassist and vocalist Liz Blackwell, guitarist and vocalist Mat Davis, and drummer Mike Cotton. It follows 2024’s Evil Remains.

Japan, Then the UK and Europe

Castle return to Japan Dec. 5-13 for their first shows there since 2016, starting with two nights at Tokyo Doom Fest on Dec. 5 and 6. Next spring, they play the UK and Europe from Feb. 26, 2027 in London to March 27 in Dresden, Germany. That run includes Into The Shadows 6.0 in Tilburg, Netherlands, on March 5 and Heavy Metal Thunder Fest in Písek, Czech Republic, on March 13. The band say it will be their first proper UK tour and will include European cities they haven’t played before.

“On the heels of our new album Carrie Chains we are extremely excited to be able to play the new set in the UK and Europe,” the band said. “Come and experience the live ritual for yourself.”
